On December 22nd at 6pm, after just eight practices, a cast of thirty-four kids, ranging in ages from 3 to 17, came together to present a musical to a packed house of family and friends. The traditional costumes were missing, so the story was told by some very unlikely characters. Western wisemen, who wrangled up some unique gifts for the King including a pair of boots, a hat, and a lasso. Treasure-seeking shepherds, who were searching for the greatest treasure of all. Spirit-filled angels, who cheered the shepherds on along their journey and shared the great joy of Jesus’ birth. And, let’s not forget the Superhero angel, Gabriel who reminded us all to “Have no fear, the savior is here!” But wait, people won’t understand the Christmas story if we don’t have the right costumes...will they? Cowboys, pirates, and cheerleaders, oh my! It wasn’t like any other Christmas pageant ever, but you never know what our great big God will do to reach someone with His love. The presentation was certainly “Out-of-the-Box”, but the heart of the message was clear...Good News, Great Joy, Christ is Born! Merry Christmas and Glory to God in the Highest!
